Pet Policy

Some of our places are pet friendly. Each place states clearly whether pets are welcome and how many, because the rules differ from one to the next.

1. Declare your pets when you book

Tell us how many pets and what size at the time of booking. Arriving with an undeclared pet, or with more pets or bigger pets than you booked, is a breach of these terms — we may refuse entry or end the stay without a refund, and a cleaning charge may apply.

2. Numbers and sizes

Unless that place says otherwise, we take a maximum of two small pets, or one medium pet. Large pets are by prior arrangement only. Sizes are a guide: small is up to about 10 kg, medium up to about 25 kg, large is anything above that.

3. Pet fee

Where a pet fee applies it is shown on your quote before you pay. It covers the extra cleaning a pet-friendly turnover needs. It is not a damage deposit and does not cover damage.

4. While you are here

• Pets are never left alone in the place. A frightened or bored animal does real damage and disturbs neighbours.
• Pets stay off beds and furniture. Please bring your pet's own bedding.
• Pets are leashed in all shared and outdoor areas.
• Clean up after your pet, inside and out, including the garden.
• Excessive barking or noise that disturbs neighbours must be resolved, or we may ask you to leave.

5. Damage and cleaning

You are responsible for any damage, soiling, odour or infestation (including fleas or ticks) caused by your pet, and for any extra cleaning or fumigation needed afterwards. This is charged at cost, over and above the pet fee.

6. Health, safety and other guests

Your pet must be healthy, vaccinated, and treated for fleas and ticks. Please do not bring a pet with a history of aggression. You are responsible for any injury or damage your pet causes to any person, animal or property.

7. Service animals

Trained service animals assisting a person with a disability are welcome at every place, including those that are otherwise not pet friendly, and no pet fee applies. Please still tell us in advance so we can prepare properly.

8. Wildlife

We are on the coast. Please keep pets away from seals, penguins, nesting birds and marine life, and keep them leashed on the beaches and in the reserves where that is required by law.
